Red Christmas candle with greensMerry Christmas!

One thing that comes to mind during this holiday season when life can be hectic and we so easily forget what is important, is that people are more important than things. With the loss of my brother this spring, I am reminded that life is short and too often we get sidetracked by so much to do. While you focus on "doing" this holiday season, take time to be and to share love with the important people in your life. You'll be glad you did.

Blessings and peace to you and yours from Projects by Peggy.

image link to greenridgemarket.comA complete makeover for the Green Ridge Country Market website - A client since 2003, Gary at Green Ridge often allows me to practice new design skills on the Green Ridge website. During the October semester, I learned some CSS (cascading style sheet) design techniques. that were used in this project. Besides a new look, the makeover creates a site that is more compliant with web standards and with scalable text - the text size enlarges and shrinks with the viewer's browser preference.

Green Ridge Markets recently added a new department: Green Ridge Country Woodworks, a new line of custom built quality products for the home and garden. Projects by Peggy created a Woodworks logo (complimentary with the Green Ridge logo) and brochure for this new venture.

Technology News:

Does Your Local Business Need a Website? If you want to attract customers, the answer's a no-brainer, according to Roy Williams, Entrepreneur.com's Advertising columnist. Check out the September 19 article on the Entrepreneur.com website.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s recently released report, almost 50% of the population use the web to find information on products or services, while one-third reported making purchases online, compared with only 2% in 1997. Q&A

My business is very small, just me and two employees, and our product really can't be sold online. Do I really need a website?

According to Tim W. Knox, founder, president and CEO of four successful technology companies, Yes, if you have a business, you should have a website. Period. No question. Without a doubt.

The Exception: It's actually better to have no website at all than to have one that makes your business look bad. Your site speaks volumes about your business. It either says, "Hey, look, we take our business so seriously that we have created this wonderful site for our customers!" or it screams, "Hey, look, I let my 10-year-old nephew design my site. Good luck finding anything!" Your website is an important part of your business. Make sure you treat it as such.
